Caramel Recipes
Now that you've got your icing, you may ask yourself, "What do I do with it?"

Well... it has a 6 month shelf life, and does not have to be refrigerated. It freezes well if you plan to keep it longer. Because of the extreme heat of the Mississippi Delta, we take special precautions on shipping when the temperature reaches over 101 degrees.

Our caramel icing is very easy to use. Just remove the lid and heat in the microwave for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes (just long enough to make it spreadable). Heating for too long (3-4 min) will make your icing too hard. If this


happens don't despair, just add a little vanilla and some pecans and drop on waxed paper for delicious pralines.

We suggest you use a butter recipe cake mix, but it is also very good on spice cake, carrot cake, fresh apple cake, pound cake, coffee cake, or anything. My granddaughter "yikes it on her finger". Below are some other ways to use the icing. Or be creative! Create your own recipes and send them to us and we will post it here.

Caramel Candy Suggestions

  • Center of Truffle - Roll icing smaller than a walnut. Coat with melted chocolate

  • Fudge - Microwave icing for about 4-5 minutes on high. Add about 1/4 cup cocoa, 1 tsp vanilla and chopped nuts.

  • Peanut Butter Fudge - Microwave icing for about 4-5 minutes on high. Add 1 cup peanut butter. Pour into a pan and cool

  • Pralines - Microwave on high for 5-6 minutes. Add pecans and 1 tsp vanilla. Drop on waxed paper for New Orleans style pralines.



    Caramel Pecos Pralines
  • 1 container caramel icing
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup coconut

    Heat icing in microwave for 3 1/2 - 4 minutes on high. Add pecans and coconut. Stir well and drop by teaspoonfuls on to a cookie sheet. Allow to cool.



    Caramel Date Pudding
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp. Salt
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 cup caramel icing
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup chopped dates

    Mix dry ingredients and set aside. Dissolve icing in hot water and add to flour mixture to make batter. Spoon batter into a greased pan 8x12 pan.



    Caramel Decorating
    Heat icing in pastry tube, drizzle over cake... caramel over caramel... caramel over chocolate. Drizzle over cookies or over brownies.


  • Caramel Fun With Cookies
    Ice cookies or create cookie sandwiches by putting 1 tablespoon icing between 2 cookies. Create a cookie pop by adding a sucker stick.



    German Chocolate Cookies
  • 1 german chocolate cake mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 cup oil

    Mix ingredients. Drop by spoon bake at 350 degrees until done. Cool. Top with one container of caramel icing in microwave for 3 1/2 to 4 minutes. Add pecans and coconut. Spread over cooled german chocolate cookies.



    Caramel Custard for Trifle
  • 3 cups of cold milk
  • 6 tablespoons corn starch
  • 1 egg well beaten
  • 1 22 ounce container caramel icing
  • your choice of flavor (amaretto, vanilla, etc.)

    Dissolve cornstarch in cold milk. Heat milk, icing, and egg. Cook over medium heat stirring until custard is thick. Stir in flavor. Suggestions: Layer with angel food cake, top with whipped cream for trifle. Add cooked rice for praline rice custard. Be Creative!



    Caramel Syrup
  • 1 cup icing
  • 1 1/2 cup boiling water

    Dissolve icing in water and pour over batter - do not stir. Bake uncovered in a 350 degree oven for approximately 45 minutes. Serve at room temperature with whipped cream.



    Rum Dip for Fruit
    Heat icing for 2-3 minutes. Add 1/4 cup rum for a wonderful dip.
